Managing Behaviors
Managing problem behaviors is an issue that both teachers and parents face on a daily basis when raising and teaching young children. All children display inappropriate behaviors from time to time at home, in the grocery store, when playing with siblings and at school. However, problem behavior which occurs regularly begins to hinder a child's functioning and social interactions at home as well as at school. When children are disruptive in the classroom it can cause a lot of problems for their classmates and their teachers. But in the long run, it's the disruptive child herself who is most impacted, on both a social and educational level.
Why do problem behaviors develop and continue to occur?
Problem behavior occurs simply because it works for the child in getting his or her wants and needs met.
ALL Behavior:
•Serves a purpose for the individual
•Is Learned
•Can be changed!!!
